Design and Simulation of an RF MEMS Switch for Removing the Self-Actuation and Latching Phenomena Using PSO Method

چکیده

In this paper a new structure for RF MEMS switches is proposed. This structure is introduced to remove self-actuation and latching phenomena. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is utilized to obtain optimum results automatically. Also a method is described to reduce computational costs of the problem. Based on the executed simulations by HFSS, the designed switch shows 14 dB isolation in 10 GHz and 15.5 dB return loss in 30 GHz. Simulations by COMSOL show that self-actuation and latching do not happen in this switch even for input powers up to 2 W.
